Our History
TAWFI was created because as a young child I experienced some challenges in life, that I don’t believe children should have to endure with so many similar situations around me friends and family members that caused some of them to be placed in foster care or group homes, then age out with nowhere to go, or nothing of their own causing in
TAWFI was created because as a young child I experienced some challenges in life, that I don’t believe children should have to endure with so many similar situations around me friends and family members that caused some of them to be placed in foster care or group homes, then age out with nowhere to go, or nothing of their own causing infertility issues, mental health traumas and inabilities to create trustworthy relationships throughout their young & adult lives. As a child I wanted to find ways to help so I asked my mom to adopt my cousins who were placed in foster care and split up at times, due to circumstances of our own she was unable to. I figured once I was old enough to make changes on my own I would do my best to bridge this gap to prevent any more of our youth from experiencing youth homelessness, sexual abuse, youth incarceration, or child death by creating changes that would give the opportunity to transition into adulthood safely.
By providing energetic non-profit work , we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We're consistently growing for the continued growth of our youth & community.
